Do You Like Watering Cans??
Who doesn’t love watering cans! I have several and decided I should do something with one of them.
I see so many wreaths around on the blogs that I thought it would be a great idea.
I’m not very creative when it comes to making a wreath, so bare with me.
I knew I wanted to use a basket. When I went to GW last week, I spotted this one.
It was brown when I bought it and I knew that wouldn’t work, so I spray painted it white in between wind storms. That is not easy when mother nature wants her way. Just sayin’.
Next, what to put in it?
In February, we bought our daughter an arrangement of flowers for Valentine’s Day. When they start to die, I turn them upside down and let them dry.
This was the arrangement.
Little I know but to be fair she did get other things, lol.
I decided to add an old watering can I’ve had for years. It is an off white with rust starting to show and a little yellowing, just awesome. It was a little plain so I added a graphic from where else, The Graphics Fairy.
Here it is in a setting.
Don’t you just love that bird cage……
I know you can’t see the watering can very well, so here you are.
I added the green ribbon I had left over from something and another stripped ribbon to hand it.
I’m in love with this graphic for the watering can. I used the wax paper method and then let it dry for a while. Spray painted a sealer on it to protect it.
I intended to hang it on the front door but it is a little bulky.
So this old door will have to do. Love old chippy doors.
Especially when they come with old door handles with paint. Love love love!!
So even though it technically isn’t a wreath, I do like it and the location it is in.
Thank you for stopping by and seeing my wreath that is not really a wreath, lol.
Have a great week and leave some love.

I think it looks fantastic! That door is wonderful and all the elements in this vignette go together perfectly!

Thank you Trisha, how sweet! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
That's my kind of wreath! My mom is a wreath magician, but somehow I didn't get the skill from her. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier!
Thank you so much for leaving a comment! My wreath making skills are not good either as you can see, lol.
This turned out so nice. I need to try the wax paper graphic methiod!
Thank you, the was paper is great but you have to be so careful that it doesn't smear, that is what I don't like about it!!
Hi Cheryl,
Just found you at the Vintage Inspiration Party! I love your "wreath!" You are more creative than you think! I enjoyed scrolling through your lovely photos!

You're so sweet Linda, thank you for stopping by and for the great comment!!
Great ideas-the basket, flowers and watering can look great together!
Thank you!!
I do indeed like watering cans! Mine are all very boring and practical but I love how pretty yours is.
Thank you! Most of mine are boring but looking around the web I found some great inspiration! Thanks for stopping by.
What a great idea! So creative! It definitely qualifies for a wreath…..that's how I would use it because I just love wreaths! Love the transfer.
Thank you!!
I love your little sitting corner! Such a attention to detail 🙂
I hope you will share your post with our Link Up – Idea box:

Mila, thank you so much. Yes I will join!!
Oh, I'm going to keep my eye out for watering cans. They haven't been on my radar and I love how yours turned out. Very creative to turn it into a hanging door wreath even if it's not currently hanging on your front door, lol.
I'm so glad, they are fun!! I hope you find one. Thanks you for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Cheryl, I love watering cans also. I love how you added the graphic and hung it in the basket! I have a few old doors around my home and would love to do something like this with one of my watering cans. Thanks for sharing with SYC. I will be featuring you this week.
hugs,
Jann
