Hello Wonderful Friends,
Are you getting your Christmas shopping done?
We are very simple this year. In decoration and in giving.
My husband had shoulder surgery about a month ago and I had surgery last week so we are trying to take it easy, which leads me to this super simple recipe for chili.
I used to make my chili years ago, but somewhere down the line, I changed it up. Mostly due to lack of time, that is how most of my recipes come about. Even though my recipes are made from a can or packet, it doesn’t mean you can’t have the flavor.
You really can’t even call it a recipe but it does warm your soul a bit. And it is good this time of year to boot.
Are you ready?
Don’t blink, you may miss it, lol.
You will take your favorite can of chili, in this case, my family has two favorites and we put them together.
I love Stagg chili, classic. It has always been my favorite.
and my husband loves Nally’s Original. I’m not a fan of just Nally’s so years ago I started mixing the two together. I buy the family size cans for the value but you can use the small cans.
Pour these two cans of chili into a big pan and then I add about 1/2 to 3/4 of a jar of Salsa. Pace Picante Sauce Original is our favorite in mild.
See how simple that is.
You can use whatever kind of chili in a can sounds good. You can use one kind or 3. You can use whatever brand of salsa works for you and the heat you like for spice. This is what works for us.
I just thought I would share this fast recipe with you in case you haven’t done anything like this before. Add veggies to it, make it your own.
Of course, you don’t want to forget the cheese. Add onions, sour cream, whatever you like on your chili. We are sour cream, cheese & cracker fans. Simple is our jam!
We also like to eat it with cornbread.
