I have had this thing sitting around waiting for a makeover for years.
And now she is done in all her glory.
Here is my inspiration piece.
Here is what mine looks like.
Spoil alert: If you know me, you know I’m painting it white, lol. First I sanded it down. Just enough to scuff up the piece because really, I hate sanding.
After sanding, I used Behr Stain Blocking Paint and Primer all in one Interior Satin Enamel. Color is Falling Snow. I buy mine at Home Depot!
Here she is on her side! In between wind storms and the heat!
I used my paint sprayer by HomeRight.
Trying to add color (besides the green) to the yard, lol.
It’s already an improvement, isn’t it?
And look what I did to the top drawer. ((Before you look, just know I need to clean up the transfer because I didn’t get a clean cut.)) Ready?
Don’t you just love it?!
I was having issues with the tannins coming through on this drawer only. See the picture below. I used a product called Boss from Dixie Bell. It is white and blocks stains from coming through. It worked like a charm. Since I just need a little bit, I brushed it over the raised part of the drawer.
Sorry about the poor picture. This is after the Boss was applied and you can see a little bit of the tannin coming through.
Once that dried, I used the transfer White Fleur by re-design. This was a piece leftover from a previous project here and I think it added so much to the overall look of this lingerie chest.
Originally I wanted a glass knob on the top drawer but the old one I had and loved did not work. So this silvery one will do for now!
And look at these handles I found on Amazon.
Are they to die for? I love them and they look amazing on this piece. They remind me of worn spoon jewelry!
She looks so much better now that she has a new dress and jewelry on.
Now I have to figure out how to fix some of her drawers. A couple of them do not move easily and I am not sure why. I fixed all the issues I could find. I heard wax might help them slide better. If any of you have anything that works for you, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Want one more look?
Me too!
Don’t forget to pin, it helps support my blog!
