Hello friends.
I decided not to post the project I finished this week. I will bring it to you next week if all goes well.
Just giving an update on what has been going on here at the house.
I’m writing this post as I’m headed to surgery, Thursday morning.
BUT first, Dear Gazer. Our sweet old dog.
He’s been going downhill for quite a few months. His back legs are failing him and it makes it hard for him to walk.
We adopted him years ago. I believe he is 16 years old. We adopted him when he was a little over a year old. We’ve loved him and enjoyed his sillyness.
It’s so hard to make a decision to put a pet down. Knowing his mind works but his body can’t hold up anymore.
He will leave a big hole in our hearts.
As I said, I’m writing this on Thursday as we head out to the next town for my surgery. My foot was doing so well and then I caught a cold or something (we don’t know the actual cause) but my foot blew up again. Which split my foot wide open.
I have been nursing this thing since July of this year, and I can’t do much but stay seated or lay down. The doc said that the bone next to my little toe is bigger than most people. Since it is a pressure point, I will continue to fight this for the rest of my life. This is a problem I have had for the last 3 years.
I can continue to do what I’m doing (which is nothing but keeping off my foot as much as possible) or have the toe amputated so the bone on that side will no longer be a pressure point!
It was a hard decision to make but I think it was the best option. The doc says it should heal to where I won’t have this problem anymore.
Pray for us that we can heal from all of this. Please keep my daughter in your prayers. She has health issues as well and could use all of your support.
Sometimes if we share, it makes the load lighter. I hope that this is the case!
I do want to leave you with some pictures I took over the week of this pretty fallish arrangement. My daughter bought the pumpkins and I had the dough bowl. I just added some dried greenery I had leftover. The pics above are some of my knobs I’ve collected over the years. They are in the same dough bowl (bought at JamiRayVintage).
My dried roses!
Had to share this pretty Aloha bell pepper. They are so pretty!
Thank you for listening and have a great weekend!

My prayers and thoughts are with you…I hope this surgery will be beneficial and you’ll be able to return to doing the things that you love to do.
It’s always so hard to say goodbye to a dear friend…one who has been by your side… who’s been there to laugh with you and to cry with you… people call them pets…but they are so much more. Love, Jackie Powell
