Hello Friends,
I love handmade soap. I’ve wanted to make it for a long time now but it always seems so daunting!
Have you ever felt that way?
I found simple instructions on how to make this soap and decided to try it for myself. After buying all the ingredients, it was super simple and smelled wonderful.
Here’s what you will need:
- Goats Milk – 2 Lbs Melt and Pour Soap Base
- Apple soap scent (Note that this is NOT essential oil.)
- Apple pie spice (Used in baking!)
- A heavy glass bowl for melting the soap
- Molds (I can’t find the one I used from Amazon.)
- Non-stick spray such as Pam
Directions:
- Slice off as much soap as you plan to use. (I used one pound.)
- Follow the directions on the soap to melt it in the microwave. Be sure not to overheat it!
- When the soap base is completely melted, stir in 1/2 teaspoon of apple pie spice. (I did not have the apple pie spice, so I substituted Tazo organic baked cinnamon apple tea. Start with one tea bag by cutting it open and mixing it into the melted soap base. It will be up to you how many tea bags you use and how you want it to look.)
- Gradually add the apple soap scent to your liking. I used about 1/4 oz. for one pound of soap but you may need more or less.
- Spray the molds with pam, pour in the soap, and let it cool and harden.
- Once the bars have hardened, pop the molds back around the edges to release the soap.
If you can’t find the spice you need, substitute it with tea!
It looks so pretty!
It’s a pretty simple process and I hope you try it!

I can't wait to try this……purchased the ingredients and am ready to give it a go!!
I'm so glad you are, it's super simple! Let me know how you like it and send pictures if you would like. Yay!!!
I love homemade soap too, but haven't made any in years. My mother was the real expert at making these and I miss her so. I should have paid more attention when she was making them, but I did inherit all of her supplies.
You should make some, this recipe is so easy!!
my daughter is allergic to many beauty products we have found though that goats milk is something that she loves and gives the love back to her Would love to find something like this for her she would love
come see us at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
Thank you Angie! You should try and make this. It's very easy, just look for essential oils she is not allergic to. I found the Goats milk at Hobby Lobby.
Hi there! I bet this smells fabulous and it would make a lovely gift!
It looks yummy! And I'm sure it smells yummy, too:) Great idea to use the tea! I'm a real tea lover so I might have to try it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my burlap pillow wrap post! I would have emailed you a reply to your kind comment but you're a no reply blogger:( xoKathleen
How fun! I recently saw a place near me where you can go for an afternoon and make soap and have tea (what a great combination), but it looks like you've got it down without the need for professional 'soap tutoring' – if there's such a thing. It looks great. I'd love it if you stopped by my link up with your post if you have time?

Thank you, you should try it! It's very simple and fast and a great gift to yourself and others. Thank you again!!
Just found your blog via the party at Katherine's Corner and have really enjoyed looking around. I've made molded soaps using the Goats Milk soap base a few times and have loved how they turned out. I recently wrote a post about the soaps I made and said that I had intended to add some spice to scent the pumpkin shaped soaps, and then forgot as I got so involved with trying to achieve the right shade of orange as I was adding the colorant. My husband loves the soaps I've made but keeps telling me I should make them scented. Your post convinced me to make sure I add a spice of some sort to my next batch. The timing of this post was perfect asI just received a new set of shaped molds that I had ordered, so it is time to make another batch of seasonal soap. They make great little gifts or are just a fun way to spoil yourself and your family. Thanks for sharing!
