I have a Table project for you all.
It is very simple, Love those, Right?!
I bought this table last year from a lady in a neighboring town through Marketplace.
Anyone else have a weakness for Marketplace and Furniture?
Good, we can be besties!!
Here is the before picture!

During the summer of last year, I took out a few pieces of furniture and spray painted them with this Awesome sprayer from HomeRight
On a side note, if you have never used a paint sprayer, stop reading this and go buy one now! It will change your life, and your kid’s life and maybe their kids, seriously, you will thank me.
It is a game-changer and it speeds up the painting process of EVERYTHING!!
It literally took me years to get over being scared to use one and then one day my bestie bought a sprayer for me and it took me almost another year of constantly looking at it to finally use it. It is one of those moments you hit yourself on the head or your husband and say, why didn’t I do this years ago!!
OK, I got sidetracked.
Now, I can be lazy when needing to paint something and this is one of those projects.
When I spray painted it, I used a primer. My plan was to go back and paint it white or gray. They are my go-to colors.
But, the table got put away and life happened.
So when I brought it back out, my plan was to paint it white or gray but what happened was I left it primer white.
You have done that too, right?!
I decided to bring out a stencil I had used in the past for this project.
I then brought out my Behr Burnished Clay to paint inside the stencil.
It is a creamy light color.
Now for the record, I am bad at stenciling but you can cover a lot of mistakes with distressing a piece of furniture.
Here is another stenciled project that turned out fantastic!
I was going for simple. In case you don’t have the time or you don’t have all the stuff you need on hand, this is a project for you. You don’t even need the stencil, you could do a grain sack design with painters tape! And you don’t have to use gray, make it red or blue or yellow!!
See what I mean, the paint is very light.
So I get the stencil painted on, being careful to get most of the paint off before dabbing it onto the table but I still managed to make a little mess!
I figured I could distress it and it would be ok.
I then went around the whole table and distressed the legs and decorative piece on the front lower part of the table.
THEN when I turned the table around, I smacked myself in the head.
Literally.
You know why?
You are not going to believe this but turning the table around I had the front side now looking at me!!
I forgot this table had a decorative piece on the front and the back does not!
I had brought it in backward!
And you guessed it, the stencil I just painted was upside down!
Wow, tell me that happens to you too!
I was going to repaint it but honestly didn’t want to with everything else going on right now. I put a sealer on it so hopefully it doesn’t look like Primer, just a bright white table!! And we can’t read it anyway, it is in french lol.
So I thought about where I was going to put it and it ended up a great solution to another problem I had.
I had moved my desk around a couple of weeks ago and I needed a table to set my printer and router on.
Do you want to know something?
Just between you and me.
The front part of that table faces the wall and the stencil faces me when I sit at the desk. Can you believe! It was like it was meant to be!!
A match made in furniture/stencil heaven.
Everything had a Happy Ending
You can see the chair here.
The world is right again, now I need to apologize to my husband for hitting him in the head.
Don’t forget to pin!!
