Hello Everybody.
Today’s post is a mini dress form makeover.
It’s so cute.
I have had this dress form for years. I don’t even remember where I got it. Probably Goodwill.
Anyway, the material is paper-mache. For years I didn’t know what to do with it but couldn’t part with it.
mini dress form
So today here is a quick project in case you have one sitting at home (big or small) that you don’t know what to do with it!
I didn’t even prime the dress form, just went right to painting it with Rust-oleum White Linen Chalk paint. It took two coats of paint.
After the paint dried I decided to use pieces of a transfer I had in my stash. You know I love transfers. This one was the IOD Label Ephemera. You can still find it out there on Etsy but it has been discontinued. So sad, it’s such a wonderful transfer! You got a lot of bang for your buck on this one.
I decided to place the transfer on the lower part of the form. Almost looks like an apron or skirt!
If you are not familiar with transfers, they are like big stickers you can stick onto your project. They stick onto practically anything. I have put them on metal, plastic, glass and painted paper-mache.
projects with transfers
Here are a just a few projects with transfers on them.
All you do is choose your transfer. Place it onto your project. Once you know where it’s going, peel the backing off and place it on your project. Take the tool that comes with the transfer and move the tool over the transfer until you start to see it come off. If you notice that some of the transfer stayed on the clear plastic, just lay the clear plastic back down and go over it again with the tool until it comes off. Very simple, very easy, and makes such a statement piece.
After the transfer was on, I was done. You can seal it at this point but I did not. I didn’t think it needed anything else on it.
I love how it turned out and glad to have finally figured out what to do with it!
new hutch
It goes so well with the hutch my husband gave me for Christmas?
going on vacation
Not sure if I will be posting next week or not. We are going to the beach for vacation! Can’t wait!
Maybe I will get some thrifting in!
Tell me what you think about the mini dress form! Do you like it? Do you have one? What did you do with it?
Have a great weekend and we will see you next time.
