Hello.
I have another thrift haul to share with you. I could have bought a lot more things but I kept it manageable, lol. It has been a good month for shopping at Goodwill. It’s always a hit and miss with them but then I guess it is that way with everyone.
Painting the upstairs bathroom
I was going to work on a few of the projects I had picked up but instead, I have been working on painting our upstairs bathroom and managed to finish only one of the projects from the haul two weeks ago! This bathroom project has taken longer than expected but as of today, the walls have been painted. Now it’s time to paint the trim.
back to the thrifting
First I picked up a picture frame. My plan is to take the white insert out and put one of my daughter’s band pictures in it. The picture is an odd size and this option is so much cheaper than having one custom-made. Paid $9.99 for it but still cheaper than having one custom made!
Found this urn with Christmas greenery in it. Even though I like the greenery, I do not like it in the urn. Wouldn’t this look great with a plant inside of it? You wouldn’t want to plant one directly into it because of no drainage holes but you can set a plant inside. Paid $6.99
I found this cast iron skillet by Pioneer Woman. It’s brand new, never used. Great find and I have already made cornbread in it! Love it! Paid $14.99.
Love Mercury glass. I found these four candle holders that have that look (Faux Mercury)? Already have the candles to go in them. I set them around the house. Paid $.99.
I love this switch plate! It is made of metal and pretty heavy. Don’t you love the detail it has? I will end up painting it and placing it somewhere in the house. Paid $3.99.
Picked up a cheese grater. Mine broke a long time ago and finally found another one. Paid $1.99.
Love the glittery star tree topper. Will leave that as is! Paid $2.99.
And my favorite find of the trip was this little doll house? Shelf thingy? I plan to add another frame I had thrifted to the top (like a roof line) and paint it white or gray! I have a couple of other things I might add to it but I will see once I start working on it. Paid $9.99.
repurposed diy
I have one project that was super simple and really fast to share with you.
Remember my last haul? You can see it here if you want to read it. I thrifted an old wooden box and knew immediately what I wanted to do with it! I paid $4.99 for it!
A couple of sides have pencil marks on it but instead of trying to get rid of it, I left it. Adds character.
I added an IOD transfer to it. Well, part of one.
Find a transfer you want to use (or stencil), clean the item you are going to use and then lay the transfer (sticky side) onto the item you are using. Rub the transfer with your hand to get it to stick, then using the stick that comes with the transfer, scrape it over the transfer until the picture is released. If part of the transfer doesn’t release, set it back down and use the scraper once more until it does release. Easy peasy!
The transfer I used is part of the Label Ephemera, which is now retired.
Look how wonderful this project turned out!
As you can see, I tipped it upside down and put my daughters plants on it! I am loving it!
That’s it for this haul!
I hope you enjoyed your time and will come back next week for another thrift haul and maybe a project!
