Hi Everybody.
Oh my goodness, what a weekend. We made a quick trip down to the southern coast of Brookings in Oregon. We left last Friday and it took us 11 hours to get there. Came back Saturday and it took us 12 ½ hours. We made a couple of extra stops before it got dark. Boy oh boy, it sure gets hard to travel that long at our age. We went down to look at buying houses. We had an appointment to see two. One we were interested in and one my daughter was looking at. The real estate agent was kind enough to book a showing at the last minute. However, neither panned out 🙁
We all loved the area, took tons of pictures. Not sure when we will be able to make it down again because of the time and of course the money. My husband used to live there and has great memories of Brookings. We would love to retire there one day or close to the area but the longer we wait the higher the house prices get. I know if it is meant to be, then it will happen.
For now, we continue to work on our place.
Anyway, I had a chance to go to the Goodwill in Brookings but didn’t find anything of interest. It is a very small Goodwill but fun and very busy.
However, a couple of weekends ago I did go to ours here locally.
It wasn’t a big haul but a fun one.
Let’s check it out.
I found a cute little barn night light. It’s so cute and it works too!
I collect barns (well, pictures of barns) and thought it would be fun to add this night light somewhere in my decor. Haven’t found a place where I like it though. I paid $2.99.
The second item is a candlestick. I already made something with it and will be showing you it next week. I paid .99 cents.
The third item is a cute little lamp. Nothing wrong with it except it needed to be tightened up on the bottom. My daughter had been looking for a lamp and she gave the approval for this one. Lamps can be expensive but you can’t beat the price of this one for $6.99, which included the lampshade.
The fourth item is this wonderful little wooden tray. I’m not a fan of the red color but love the tray itself and love, love, love the handles. I paid $4.99.
And last but not least is another tray made out of metal. I loved it as soon as I saw it. I also have this one almost completed and you won’t believe how it turned out. I paid $4.99.
I hope you enjoyed this thrift haul and will be back next week to see one of the makeovers from it. I will leave you with some beautiful pictures of the scenery we saw along the way!
