Guys, I am finally getting through my stash! I still have quite a few projects but I found the cutest little stool I had forgotten about.

As you can see from the picture, I paid $4.99 for it. I found this little gem at our local Goodwill store.
It’s simple and it’s sturdy!
UPDATE: I ended up repainting this stool. Check for the pics and description of what I did at the very bottom of the page.
I decided to paint it Mint Chip by DIY, like this chair but not quite that green and not with the dark stain on it! I ended up mixing Mint Chip with some Falling Snow by Behr to lighten it up.
The above picture is just one coat of paint. I found with DIY paint, it’s too thick for me and grainy. Both can be solved by adding water to thin it down and sanding after each layer. That’s exactly what I did here.
After painting the stool with two coats of this paint mixture, I didn’t like it! (didn’t get a picture of the second coat on). I even asked my daughter what she thought! A big NOPE.
I decided to go with my old stand-by of white paint!! Leaving the green still on the stool, I start painting it in Falling Snow by Behr. I love it!
When all the paint was dry I distressed it.
I was truly second-guessing myself at this point but a dear friend and my family thought it looked just fine.
Tell me what you think?
It was a simple and straightforward project with just paint involved.
The only thing I need to do is seal it because I do want to use it!
UPDATE:
Friends, the more I looked at this little stool the more I didn’t care for it! So I repainted the top only with just the white paint. I added a trim to the outside made of paper clay and to finish it off, I added pieces of leftover transfer from another project to the top of the stool.
This is the top of the stool with the transfer on both sides. I like how the edges are not all straight!
A close-up of the paper clay molding! When it dries, it can crack, like it shows here. I don’t mind it, in fact, I think it adds character!
NOW I love it!!
Do you like it better than before or should I have left it the same?
