Friends, these are the best!
Not kidding!
You need this sandwich in your life. They are delicious!
These sands have chicken (of course), sliced cheese, bacon, bread, and an alfredo sauce that will blow your mind!
All the items on this sandwich are great but add them all together and it is spectacular.
Let’s get started.
You’re going to need a hoagie roll or whatever sandwich bread you desire as long as it holds up to all of the ingredients.
To make the chicken:
Cut 1lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces. Add onion powder, garlic powder, fresh ground pepper, about 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese. (I forgot to add the parm). Add 1-2 Tablespoons oil – can be olive oil, avocado oil, or vegetable oil, to the chicken and mix. On medium to medium-low heat, add 2 Tablespoons of butter to a hot pan and melt, along with 1 Tbsp. olive oil. Add the chicken bites and stir until all sides are browned. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
Fry up your bacon.
See how to make bacon bits here.
Sauce:
Yum, the alfredo sauce.
I have been experimenting with this sauce for eons, no kidding!
You will need, butter, heavy cream, milk, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, and seasonings. Now, you can add the seasonings when you make the sauce for the sandwich, or you can do like I did and make a double triple batch (it’s that good, lol) and have it on hand when you make these sandwiches or alfredo sauce!
Use the same pan you cooked the chicken in. Heat it to medium, add the butter, and let melt. Add in the milk, cream, cream cheese, and seasonings to deglaze the pan. Let it reduce. You will have to turn the heat down a little until it reduces, so as not to burn, and so your cheese melts smoothly. Once you get it to the consistency you want (coating the back of a spoon), take the pan off the heat and add your freshly grated parm cheese. This is the part where, if your sauce is too hot when you add the cheese, it will not end up smooth. Taste. Add more seasoning as a whole or individually, crushed red pepper flakes, cayenne, pepper, or chicken bouillon to taste.
In mine, I use half of a teaspoon of the cayenne and more of the chicken bouillon. Make it yours! I used to make it similar to the Olive Garden but have since added the spice and my fam loves it more.
It is great on these sandwiches, on linguine, with bread. So so good!
For the bread, I add melted butter to a small saucepan, garlic and onion powder, and parsley. I usually don’t have fresh parsley on hand so use what you have!
Here is the recipe below, enjoy!
